A RETREAT FOR WOMEN OVER 40
NOVEMBER 28th - DECEMBER 1st 2019
GOODNESTONE PARK, KENT
As women we start to change in the run-up and during our menopausal years. This retreat offers you a rich experience in the art of 'ageing gracefully'. It gives you the opportunity to deepen your understanding of your body and your relationship with life from a range of complementary perspectives.
Wherever you are on this very individual path, you can age gracefully, with vitality and purpose. You can shift your thinking, banish mood swings and boost self-compassion and sexual magnetism. It really can be a journey of joyful transformation where you feel more alive and connected to yourself than you ever imagined.
I've brought together a group loving and expert women to help you navigate the biological and emotional ups and downs of our changing wisdom over a long weekend, at a country estate in Kent.
love yourself, love life; feel physically vital and emotionally grounded
OVER THREE DAYS ON A BEAUTIFUL ESTATE YOU ARE INVITED TO:
learn more about your health and hormones before or during your menopausal years.
experience effective practices to awaken your sensual energy and reconnect with your inner self.
receive nutrition advice for living with more energy.
benefit from the specialisms of numerous, dedicated retreat experts.
take part in movement classes and outdoor sessions in this still, natural landscape.
enjoy profound face and body treatments with visiting practitioners (extra cost).
find a joyful, personal path for navigating this new phase of life.
Ageing Gracefully is born from my experience with the menopause, from my years working in wellbeing and from my passionate belief that this changing phase of life really can be joyful when we know how to connect with our bodies, with nature, our own wisdom and discernment. It’s not downhill from here. We can be the happiest we’ve ever been. I’m a messenger rather than an expert and I curate my retreats to offer you a broad range of approaches, from women I admire, who’ve helped me. I hope you will take away something to uplift your life now. And a visceral belief that you can live in an aligned and fluid way. It’s in us all. This weekend will help you grow it. And I intend, every time, that it will be fun.
Paola Ferretti Johnson
Paola is a qualified Pilates instructor and teacher of The Feldenkrais Method, a somatic form of movement based on principles of physics, neurology and physiology to relieve restricted movement and chronic pain and improve posture and flexibility.
Paola teaches Awareness Through Movement (ATM) mat classes that focus on sensing, resting and moving to engage the whole body, allowing it to replace old habits with new awareness and function. Her one-on-one Functional Integration (FI) work, with specific yet gentle manipulation reorganises the body to treat minor aches to serious muscular skeletal issues.
Her work encourages new possibilities that foster physical change and greater vitality and emotional wellbeing.
Each day starts with a nature walk or Feldenkrais with Sophie and Paola.
After breakfast spend each of the three mornings in a group workshop alternating between Kalindi, Annie and Jackie.
Annie shares her medical expertise and information around hormone replacement therapy and self-care in mid-life.
Kalindi takes you through a mix of ideas, meditations, movement and breathing to tap into, play with and fully live the magic of your female body.
Jackie shares details on our body systems and advice on eating to support your hormones and energy levels.
During the afternoons Annie and Kalindi are available to chat with guests.
You are welcome to book a Functional Integration Feldenkrais treatment with Paola or a ‘sound’ face or body massage with Susan.
There will be time to wander around the beautiful estate and relax in the design-led elegance of Goodnestone.
Before supper we will have an open discussion one day and twilight walk with an enchanted experience on the other.
After supper, it's time to wind down with a sound bath with Susan or enjoy fun, female ‘play’ to further connect with your ‘goddess’ self.
Goodnestone Park is a privately-owned stately home in Kent and the guardian of the oldest cedar tree in England. I’ve chosen it for its elegant interiors, chic detailing and sumptuous bedrooms. The recently-renovated house is a fine example of Queen Anne architecture, has been in the same aristocratic family for xxx generations and once welcomed Jane Austen as a regular visitor. It’s a luxurious escape in ancient woodland that touches all the senses.
The cost includes a packed programme of workshops and classes, deluxe rooms with private bathrooms and chef-prepared meals:
‘Queen Suite’: single occupancy £1,750, sharing £1,000 (super-king only)
‘Princess Rooms’: single occupancy £1,500, sharing £1,100 (super-king or twin)
‘Goddess Rooms’: single occupancy only £1,250 (king)
We welcome 12 guests. Feel free to talk with me about room options.
Paola and Susan offer private, 50-minute treatments. There are a limited number of session, booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost: £85
